Never say never...

I said I'd never do this.  Blog, that is. I'm not exactly sure why I always said that, because I love to read blogs.  I can spend a whole lot of time reading blogs, actually--recipes, pictures of friends and their kids, hair styles, how-to-DIY-this or that.....but I never thought I would do it.
I suppose it has more to do with never before feeling like I had the motivation or a worthy cause to blog about.  However, as we embark on the next step in our journey as a family, we decided this is the best avenue to share our story. Again, I learn the lesson: Never say never! So, here;s the announcement:

Our newest adventure is.....Adoption!

The gathering of information to start our pursuit of a domestic, infant adoption has been a very long process.  We hardly even knew where to begin.  Through a lot of prayer, talking to friends (special shout out to Becky!), reading blogs (see?!), researching agencies, googling SO MANY THINGS, and reading books, we finally have our formal adoption application approved and are moving forward working with Bethany Christian Services.

We are simultaneously excited and scared out of our minds about adding to our family through adoption. That's where the faith comes in.  We feel like this is the direction God has called our family and we are ready to trust that He will provide for us as we walk down this path.

It's a weird thing to 'announce' because it feels like the biological equivalent of telling people you are starting to 'try' to get pregnant.  The timeline for domestic adoption has so many factors, so we really have no idea when another child will join our family, but we trust the timing will be exactly right.

Feel free to join us and catch up with us through our blog (Things I never thought I would write. I seriously can't believe we have a blog. so weird). We want to be able to share our story in hopes of helping those who might want to adopt as well, so feel free to pass our blog along to anyone you think might be interested!
